Founder And Managing Partner – Steve Gaynor
MobileSolve is led by Steve Gaynor, who has over thirty years professional experience, and over twenty years in the technology industry. An investment banker, attorney, management consultant and CEO, he brings a wide range of skills to assist clients with building businesses and solving business problems.
Steve graduated from Harvard’s Joint Program in Law and Business, simultaneously earning his MBA and JD (Doctor of Law) degrees. While at Harvard, he interned at McKinsey & Company, and served as an assistant to the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury (Finance Minister).
Upon graduation Steve became a “Wall Street” attorney and investment banker, first with Skadden Arps, a global top-five law firm, and subsequently with the investment bank L.F. Rothschild & Co., where he advised on transactions of all types, including M&A, restructurings, IPOs and secondary equity offerings, and private placements of equity and debt.
Recruited by AirTouch, (now Vodafone), Steve became a leader of its successful international expansion in Asia and Europe. He was a senior member of teams that won the second GSM licenses in Italy and Spain, and served on the Boards of what are today Vodafone Italy and Vodafone Spain.
Following Vodafone’s $62 Billion acquisition of AirTouch, Steve became a Partner at Arthur D. Little, where he served as a senior wireless industry advisor to governments and leading companies and investors, including the Brazilian Government, Sony, Nortel, Saudi Prince Al Waleed bin Talal and several private equity and venture capital funds
Since Arthur D. Little, Steve served as CEO of Unifone, a wireless service provider funded by a $1.7 Billion VC fund, and CEO of Mobliss, a mobile messaging and games company. Both companies were sold. He has been on six boards, of which four companies were acquired, and on several start-up advisory boards.
In addition to holding the MBA and JD degrees, Steve, who started university at 15, graduated with highest honors from Baruch College (CUNY), and earned the Certificate in Telecom Engineering with distinction from U.C. Berkeley. He is a member of the New York Bar, and a registered investment banker holding the Series 62, 63, and 79 licenses.
Managing Director – Patrick Nguyen
Patrick leads MobileSolve’s Silicon Valley practice providing strategic M&A advisory, capital raising and business development services for early stage technology companies. He has over 25 years of experience in advising on M&As, venture investments, and business development partnerships.
Patrick has co-founded two startups, led another to an IPO, and grew several startups to achieve successful sales. He led Corporate Development & Business Development as a senior executive at four technology companies (InterTrust, Liberate, Xumii and SugarSync).
Patrick was also a Partner and Head of the Corporate Transactions and M&A practice at the Silicon Valley Office of Weil, Gotshal & Manages, a large international law firm. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from UC Irvine, and a J.D. from UCLA School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California and holds securities licenses for Series 7 and 63 under FINRA.
Managing Director – Bobbi Babitz – LoHi Securities
Bobbi is a founding partner of Lohi Merchant Bank. She brings over twenty years of private equity and transactional experience in high-growth companies in both the public and private capital markets.
Over the course of her career, she has served as banker, advisor, principal investor, board member, and interim management for companies in a wide range of industries with an emphasis on media, technology, business services, and healthcare.
Prior to founding LoHi Merchant Bank, Bobbi served as a principal of lower middle market private equity firm Mercantile Capital Group where she sourced, structured, and added value to portfolio investments.
Before joining Mercantile, Bobbi was a biotech research analyst with Union Bank of Switzerland Lifescience Group. She started her financial career with Trebol, the U.S. investment arm of Argentine private bank Banco General de Negocios.
Managing Director – Brett Story – LoHi Securities
Brett is a founding partner of LoHi Merchant Bank and a seasoned investment banker and corporate attorney with extensive transaction advisory experience.
Prior to LoHi, Brett was Director of Corporate Finance with the Denver-based investment bank Janco Partners, where he managed the firm’s technology and media banking practice.
Before Janco, he was a Director at Legacy Wealth Partners, an alternative investment and asset management boutique. Brett has practiced in Miami and Denver as an M&A attorney, most recently with Minor & Brown.
Brett holds a BA from the University of Richmond and a JD from the University of Miami School Of Law.
Managing Director – Andrew Hurry – LoHi Securities
Andrew is a Managing Director with LoHi Merchant Bank with over 25 years of strategic advisory and transactional experience. His strengths include applying a unique combination of a pragmatic, scientific, engineering and finance background to complex situations across telecom, environmental, healthcare, and other industries.
His recent projects include his role as Financial Consultant to Huntsville Utility for the development of a citywide fiber network and its resultant first-of-a-kind contract with Google Fiber.
Andrew spent 10 years as Senior Investment Banker at The Yale Group. Prior to The Yale Group, Andrew was a principal at Grayson & Associates, a merchant banking firm focusing on medical-related technology investments. Before Grayson, he was a Senior Project Manager in Europe for global environmental consulting firms, with his role focusing on business development, environmental due diligence, and natural resource development.
Andrew holds an MBA from the University of London, England, an M.Sc. from University College London, and a B.Sc. from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
